Meet Mara

Mara Parnell, creator and owner of Davis Bay Tea Company, is passionate about great tasting, quality loose leaf tea that is ethically sourced and pesticide free. In her youth Mara discovered the joy of sharing a cuppa with her Grandmother and other important people in her life. For her, happiness is a warm cup of delicious tea (or a tea infused mocktail) and moments of quiet contemplation…preferably outdoors in the sunshine.

Following a major life pivot from her finance job and a chance meeting with a Canadian Master tea blender she established Davis Bay Tea Co. in 2017 with a sincere commitment to great tasting, high quality and accessible loose-leaf teas. Cafes, restaurants, gourmet and local retailers, corporations, distillers, cidery and many local makers source Davis Bay Tea Co. teas and Mara loves to collaborate. Happy to be known locally as the Tea Lady!  Davis Bay Tea is 100% blended in Canada in small batches with unique recipes, uncompromising quality ingredients and  steeped in local history. Mara is community minded and partners with local charities to support local causes that enrich lives on the Sunshine Coast.

Davis Bay Tea Co. is located on the beautiful Sunshine Coast, BC Canada a short ferry ride from Vancouver, BC. Situated along picturesque Hwy 101, between Gibsons and Sechelt, Davis Bay is known for beautiful sunsets, ocean views, the historic pier and a casual coastal vibe. Mara, raised in Gibsons, now calls Davis Bay home and is inspired by the natural beauty of the Sunshine Coast, it's laid-back lifestyle and creative culture.
